U18AAA Face Off Concludes in St. Marys
Stratford, ON - All 9 ALLIANCE Hockey U18AAA teams were in action October 1-3 in the season-opening Face Off event held at the Pyramid Recreation Centre in St. Marys. Each team played 4 League games over the course of the weekend.

“It has been a long road and so much work has been done by Volunteers, Associations, Staff and families to get to this point but we are beyond excited to finally have the U18AAA teams on the ice," said Senior Vice President Karen Gibb.

"Witnessing the smiles on the players faces and the general excitement around the rink was pretty special, especially after 18+ months without League play.  Based on the games this weekend, the 2021-22 U18AAA League is very competitive and there is some great parity.  All of the teams proved that anyone can win on any given night,” said Region 3 Vice President Keith Woods who was in attendance throughout the weekend.  "There is a long season ahead and we are looking forward to a lot more exciting hockey."

End-to-end action and exceptional goaltending were common themes as six of the eighteen games advanced to overtime, with two of those games eventually decided in shoot-outs.

Thank you to the Huron Perth Lakers for their support in coordinating the event.
