COMPETITION INTRODUCTION SPORT STREAM - NCCP DEVELOPMENT 1
Overview:
The NCCP Development 1 curriculum and delivery was designed using the new competency based education and training model. The curriculum and clinic is designed to give coaches plenty of opportunities to do and think for themselves through classroom theory and on-ice participation.
The NCCP Development 1 course is a two day clinic starting on Saturday morning and concluding late Sunday afternoon. Coaches attend a minimum of 12 hours of classroom and 2 hours of on-ice instruction and/or observation.
This program follows the Competition Introduction Stream and the Long Term Player Development stages of – Learn to Train, Train to Train.

All coaches looking for a continuing education opportunity to enhance their knowledge of the game. The Development 1 clinic is targeted at those coaching in the competitive stream.
ALLIANCE Hockey requires a coach to have a minimum of TRAINED STATUS in this stream (i.e. to be approved on a bench).
TRAINED STATUS Requirements:
Trained Status is based on completing two (2) core components:
1) Development 1 Clinic (100 % attendance in-class course and on-ice Specialty Skills Session)
2) EAP (Emergency Action Planning) - completed in the classroom portion of the clinic.
CERTIFIED STATUS Requirements:
The Coach will be considered CERTIFIED when:
1) Development 1 Clinic (100 % attendance in-class course and on-ice Specialty Skills Session)
2) EAP (Emergency Action Planning) - completed in the classroom portion of the clinic.
3) Completion of the D1 Post Task (HP1 pre-requisite)
4) MED (Making Ethical Decisions) Online evaluation for Competition-Introduction is completed on the CAC (Coaches Association of Canada) website:

NOTE: All Team Officials require Respect-In-Sport (RIS)/Speak Out certification. This course is taken separately from the NCCP course outlined above.
