Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario

The 2024-2025 ALLIANCE Hockey season has concluded with the crowning of the Champions and Finalists. A total of 58 ALLIANCE Hockey titles were captured across all levels and divisions. Sincere appreciation goes out to all Hosts, Associations and volunteers who assisted in providing events and memorable experiences for all those involved.

The 2024-25 minor hockey season was capped off this past weekend with the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) Minor Hockey Championships, three (3) day events that produced OHF Branch Champions at the U13 A-AA, U15 A-AA and U18 A-AA age categories. Each Minor Hockey Member Partner (ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA and OMHA) is represented plus a host team.  

There can be an argument made that no U18 team in Canada had a more successful regular season than the Elgin Middlesex Canucks. The Canucks turned the Minor Hockey Alliance of Ontario into their own personal playground, finishing with 32 wins, two overtime losses and a shootout defeat, and outscoring teams by an almost unfathomable 191-42. (For those keeping track at home, that’s a goal differential of +149. The next best in the Alliance was +35).

The 2025 OHL Under-18 Priority Selection was held on Wednesday, April 16th where a total of 51 players born in 2007 and 2008 were selected from Under-18 AAA programs from across the province. The concept for the OHL Under-18 Priority Selection was developed in 2017 with full support from Hockey Canada’s three Ontario Branches including the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF), Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO), and Hockey Northwestern Ontario (HNO), to assist in the growth of U18 AAA hockey and provide further opportunities for players at different stages of their hockey development.
