2024 ALLIANCE HOCKEY SELECT CHAMPIONSHIPS

Team Registration:
• Team Officials must register at the Wayne Gretzky Sport Centre Championship Office at least one hour prior to their first game. Teams should have a copy of their approved rosters and travel permits for which they may be asked to provide at any time during the Championship.
• If the team does not play their first game at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre, then registration must take place prior to their second game, regardless of where that game is played.
• Player gifts are to be picked up at the Championship Office at the time of registration.

Rules & Regulations
• The Championship will follow regular ALLIANCE Hockey playing rules, including tie-breaker protocol.
• The 2023-24 OHF Minimum Suspension List will be enforced.
• Home teams will wear dark jerseys. If jersey changes are necessary, the Home team is required to change.
• There is one(1) 30-second timeout allowed in preliminary playoff, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final and Final games during regulation time. There are NO timeouts in overtime or in any Robin Round play.
• Affiliated Players (AP’s) are permitted to play in any game, when needed. AP players are NOT required to play in a Round Robin game prior to the playoff rounds.
• Teams must be ready to play up to a maximum of 15 minutes prior to the originally scheduled game start time.
• Any fighting will result in an automatic suspension from the Championship.
• 3 minor penalties in one game will result in a Game Ejection. (No Suspension) (A double minor only counts as 1 penalty, i.e. 4-minute head contact).
• Decisions of the Championship Committee are considered final and cannot be appealed.

Tie-Breakers:
• Will follow ALLIANCE Hockey 7.0 Tie-Breakers 

Game Lengths:
• U9, U10: Round Robin: 10-10-10. Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Finals: 10-10-12.
• U11, U12, U13: Round Robin: 10-10-12. Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Finals: 10-10-15.
• U14, U15, U16, U18: Round Robin: 10-10-15. Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Finals: 10-15-15.

Mercy Rule:
• The clock will move to run-time in the 3rd period if at any time there is or becomes a 5-goal differential. It will move back to stop-time if the spread goes back to a 3-goal differential.

Overtime:
• No overtime in any Round Robin games.
• Overtime for all Preliminary, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final & Final games is 3-on-3 sudden-victory.
• 99 minutes will go on the clock. There are NO timeouts in OT.

General:
• The Championship Committee shall have the prerogative to render a decision under any emergency situation.
• All team members, including family members must behave in an appropriate manner, both on and off the ice in accordance with the ALLIANCE Hockey Codes of Conduct.
• Spectators are NOT allowed in the bench area corridor, change rooms, or the timekeeper’s area.
• At no time will any Team members, family members, or spectators be allowed in or near the referee room(s). NO EXCEPTIONS. Only the timekeepers and/or Championship Directorate are to meet with the on-ice officials.
• As per Bulletin #23-025, there will be zero tolerance of inappropriate/excessively loud music in change rooms.
• Any damage to the facility by a member may involve immediate removal from the facility for the duration of the Championship. Teams/Members will be responsible for payment of any damage to the facility by any member.
• The Team Trainer has authority on decisions regarding injuries.
• Each Team is responsible for ensuring they have an Emergency Action Plan in place.
• The Championship Directorate will not be responsible for any injuries incurred during the event. All precautions will be taken to protect participants.
