Stratford ON, The top 68 players from 12 Minor Midget teams
in ALLIANCE Hockey showcased their talents to Scouts from across Ontario at the
Minor Midget AAA All-Star Weekend in Waterloo.
Two local players led team Grey to a with 3 wins and a 1 overtime loss
record.
Owen Lane of the Kitchener Jr. Rangers led all scorers with 5 goals and 5 assists, cross town rival and Team Grey team mate Nathan Schnarr 5 goals and 2 assists tied for second in scoring with Brett Willits 1 goal 6 assists of the London Jr. Knights with 7 points. Hayden Davis a top prospect going into this year’s draft anchored the defense that saw Team Grey win the 4 team event. The Minor Midget All-Star Weekend was part of the evaluation process for the ALLIANCE Hockey U16 team. All 1999-born, ALLIANCE Hockey registered AAA players are eligible for Team ALLIANCE, Director of Operations Gary McFarlane was on hand to evaluate players and will continue to closely follow the Minor Midget AAA League throughout the rest of the regular season and play-offs leading up to the OHL Gold Cup. Players not selected to play in the All-Star Weekend are eligible for Team ALLIANCE U16.
