Stratford ON, The top 40
players from 8 Midget teams in ALLIANCE Hockey showcased their talents to
Scouts from across Ontario at the Midget AAA All-Star Game on Sunday December 7
at the Waterloo Recreation Complex. The
game was fast passed with end to end action, the White team which was comprised
of players from London, Lambton, Huron Perth and Cambridge defeated the Navy
team, Windsor, Kitchener, Waterloo and Brantford, 3 to 1.
The White team outshot Navy 37 to 34, Zach Weir of London stopped all 15 shots he faced in the second half of the game for the White team. The Lambton Jr. Sting played a prominent role on the score sheet for Team White as they were involved in all three goals, Dillion Saunders and Jarrent Marks had 2 points each for Team White. Team Navy Player of the Game Award went to Windsor’s Jakov Novak who scored his team’s lone marker. Team White Player of the Game Award went to Matt MacPherson of the London Jr. Knights who scored the third White goal and was a stalwart on defense.
The Midget AAA All-Star game was part of the ALLIANCE Hockey All-Star Program of Excellence Weekend which featured the best 2000, 1999 and 1997-98 Birth year players.
