Stratford, ON - For the third consecutive season, the Waterloo Wolves are ALLIANCE Hockey Minor Midget AAA Champions! In a thrilling game 6 against an impressive London Jr. Knights team, the Wolves pulled out a 3-2 win in front of a boisterous home crowd at RIM Park.
The Wolves' road to the Championship was met with some great competition and each round of the Playdowns displayed the skill and talent of the Minor Midget AAA League. Fans were entertained game after game and average attendance grew to ~500 per game. On behalf of all the teams, we thank you for supporting the players!
Waterloo Wolves - Road to the Championship:
Quarter Final: defeated Hamilton Huskies 3 games to 1, 15 Goals For, 12 Goals Against
Semi-Final: defeated Kitchener Jr. Rangers 4 games to 3, 22 Goals For, 17 Goals Against
Final: defeated London Jr. Knights 3 games to 2, 14 Goals For, 17 Goals Against
Next up for the Wolves, Knights, Jr. Spitfires and the Jr. Rangers is the 2016 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament, hosted by the GTHL, to be played March 15-21 in Toronto. All games will be played at Scotiabank Pond until the Championship Final which moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Monday March 21.
