Understandably, this is an exciting time for those players who have been selected to participate and disappointing for those who were not. For those who are discouraged, keep in mind that there have been many talented players over the years who were not selected to specific teams, camps, games, etc.
Look no further than ALLIANCE Hockey Graduates Tanner Pearson (LA Kings) and Ryan Ellis (Nashville Predators) both of whom did not advance from the Under 17 Camp. Through their disappointment, they persevered, worked hard and were determined to prove that they could compete with the best. Both players eventually found themselves starring on the Canadian World Junior Team and playing in the NHL.
Like Pearson and Ellis, another great example of perseverance is highlighted in Colton Kammerer's story...recently passed over for an invite to the U17 summer camp, Colton Kammerer used the snub as motivation to play his way to northern B.C.
