ALLIANCE Hockey Officiating Program
Officials are the third team on the ice, without these members the game would not be possible. It is the official’s responsibility to ensure the game is safe and played within the rules. Every year the ALLIANCE Hockey Officiating Program registers approximately 1200 officials through our Entry Level Program (New), Recertification (Returning) or Crossover from another member partner.
ALLIANCE Hockey annually hosts officiating clinics from September through October.
Every official is required to complete their Hockey Canada Officiating Program (HCOP) Certificating either by attending a “Entry Level Clinic” or “Recertification Clinic” each year to be eligible to work games during the current season.
The Hockey Canada Officiating Program has released the “Officiating Pathway” which consists of five (5) levels, which are the foundation for training and development of officials:
Development:
1. Level 1
2. Level 2
3. Level 3
High Performance:
4. Member High Performance
Level 4
Level 5 - Men's

The program offers clinics for officials at all levels from the youngest age groups and divisions of minor hockey through to the top levels of hockey in Canada, and international competition.
