Organization - 2019 AGM Weekend Concludes

London, ON - The 2019 ALLIANCE Hockey AGM, celebrating 26 years of ALLIANCE Hockey, was held May 24-25, 2019 in London, ON.  More than 150 members attended the two-day event which included the annual Golf Classic, Recognition Luncheon, and Annual General Meeting.

The weekend began with the Annual Golf Classic on Friday, May 24th at the FireRock Golf Club in Komoka, ON. The golfers endured the unsettled weather and were entertained with a variety of special contests coordinated in part by the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association.  Special Guests included Alumni and current Carolina Hurricanes forward Greg McKegg, Alumni and current Owen Sound Attack Assistant Coach/GM Joey Hishon, Alumni and Skills Development Coach Scott Stafford, Sun County Board Member and Owner/VP/GM of the Windsor Spitfires Warren Rychel and representatives from Hockey Canada, the OHF, ALLIANCE Hockey Member Associations and numerous supporters and sponsors.  The Golf Classic concluded with a fun dinner, prize draws and a Hot Stove Session moderated by Donna Cherry and Rhonda MacLean!  Thank you to all who supported the event and donated funds that will be used to assist participants who are new to the game!

On Saturday, May 25th, the Annual General Meeting was conducted consisting of Executive Reports, Committee Reports, Notices of Motions and the introduction of the 2019-2020 Executive Committee.

The Executive Director's Report focused upon the Association's continuing efforts to market the game, member engagement and the revitalized IP, Novice and Atom pathways.  A special Q & A session was held that featured Hockey Canada's Vice President, Operations, Pat McLaughlin and Vice President, Member Engagement, Darren Cossar and ALLIANCE Hockey's Executive Director, Tony Martindale.  The session was both informative and thought provoking.  Click here to view the presentation.

Five ALLIANCE Hockey Executive positions were open for election including; Sr. Vice-President, Vice-President Region #1, Vice-President Region #3, Vice-President Region #5 and Recreational Council Chair.  All positions were filled by acclamation.

The positions of Treasurer, Chairperson of Appeals and Technical Director - Officials, were appointed.

ALLIANCE Hockey was proud to welcome several Honourary Life Members and Past Presidents to the AGM.  Their attendance was appreciated and their contributions to ALLIANCE Hockey will always be recognized.

he AGM was capped off with the annual Award Recognition Luncheon where annual Honour Roll Association awards and annual ALLIANCE Hockey recognition awards were presented.  Congratulations to all recipients!
