44 players named to Canada Red and Canada White Hockey Canada has announced the 44 players who will wear the Maple Leaf with Canada Red and Canada White at the 2024 U17 World Challenge, set for Nov. 3-9 at Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia, Ontario.

As we begin the 2024-2025 minor hockey season it is important to provide a reminder to all Members about appropriate conduct.   Minor hockey is dependent upon relationships with local facilities to ensure that we can provide successful programming throughout the season. We must ensure that we always respect facilities whether at home or at another venue. This includes being respectful of venue Staff, property (i.e. change rooms, lobbies, etc.), other facility users, etc. Furthermore, this includes playing appropriate music in change rooms, during warmups and during on-ice functions.  

September 30 marks the first official day of the 2024-2025 minor hockey season and we could not be more excited to welcome everyone to the rink! The 2024-2025 season promises to be full of new opportunities for players, officials, team staff, families and administrators alike. We encourage you to keep perspective and enjoy the moments whether it be bonding with teammates, honing your skills, visiting new places, calling a great game or capturing your first goal.

BACKGROUND In 2017, Hockey Canada, along with its Members, implemented a direction to move to modified ice programming for U9 hockey and below. This model has been in place since the 2018-2019 season. While the program has undergone small modifications, there has been no evaluation to determine if modified ice remains the best option for the U9 age category.

Coaches are essential to hockey at every level. A caring, enthusiastic, well-trained coach can be a positive influence on the experience of players, parents and other coaches. ALLIANCE Hockey works with Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and our Members to provide effective education, certification and registration for hundreds of hockey coaches annually.
