Organization - OHF Approval for ALLIANCE Hockey 5v5 w/ Contingencies
Submitted By ALLIANCE Hockey on Thursday, November 19, 2020
Effective immediately, the OHF Directors have approved the ALLIANCE Hockey request to implement 5v5 hockey across the entire ALLIANCE Hockey jurisdiction at the divisions of U10 and above. The approval is contingent upon:

The decision to allow ALLIANCE Hockey to deliver 5v5 hockey does not constitute a further progression through the OHF Return to Hockey Framework. Specifically, the OHF remains in Stage 3B.

The OHF Directors expect their decision to positively impact the following areas of player experience:
• Opportunity to register kids currently on waiting lists and get more kids playing hockey,
• More variety in competition opportunities,
• Better game play as a result of less player fatigue.

It is noted that current Ontario Regulations only permit team or gameplay in areas in the Prevent (green), Protect (yellow) and Restrict (orange) categories of Ontario’s COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open. Associations in the Control (red) category of the framework are not permitted to participate in any team or game play.
