Want to be a Coach?
Coaches are essential to hockey at every level. A caring, enthusiastic, well-trained coach can be a positive influence on the experience of players, parents and other coaches.

ALLIANCE Hockey works with Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and our Members to provide effective education, certification and registration for hundreds of hockey coaches annually.

Unsure of the Team/Bench Staff qualifications required? Along with consultation from the local Minor Hockey Associations, use this guide to obtain further information: Minimum Coaching Requirements.

ALLIANCE Hockey is pleased to provide the following information on current and upcoming training opportunities for coaches of all levels:

» COACH 1 - This Course is an on-demand course, that you may complete at your own pace.
Hockey Canada Coach 1 program was designed to review the basic tools coaches need in leadership, communication, teaching skills and lesson planning. This is taught with special considerations of the youngest athletes in mind. Hockey Canada Coach 1 addresses the core knowledge every new coach must have as they begin their coaching career.

» COACH 2 - This Course is an on-demand course, that you may complete at your own pace.
Hockey Canada Coach 2 program follows the competency-based education and training method of learning and is an excellent course for all new and recreational-level coaches. The Hockey Canada Coach 2 program introduces player development, effective communication and supporting athletes in the team, training, practice and game environments.
