Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) has invited Kitchener,
Cambridge and Waterloo AAA Minor Bantam boys to participate in this
year's Toyota Hockey Challenge.
The winning team from the Toyota Hockey Challenge Championship game will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break 2014 for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, expenses paid by TMMC.
In November of 2011, the Kitchener and Cambridge teams earned the right to play in the Championship Game to determine which team would travel to Japan. Over 1,000 people were treated to a great hockey game with the Kitchener Jr Ranges upsetting the Cambridge Hawks 7 to 4 to earn the trip of a lifetime.
All guests will be eligible to qualify for a variety of prizes to be drawn throughout this year's Championship Game.
March 2014 will mark the ninth time a local team from the Waterloo region has travelled to Japan for the exchange. A return visit by a Japanese team will be hosted in March of 2015. In 2013 the Tomakomai Allstars travelled to Kitchener and defeated the Junior Rangers in two hard fought games at the Activa Sports Complex.
