National Coaches Week celebrates the positive impact coaches have on athletes, participants, and communities across Canada. This week is an opportunity to recognize coaches for the integral role they play by saying #ThanksCoach.

BACKGROUND In 2017, Hockey Canada, along with its Members, implemented a direction to move to modified ice programming for U9 hockey and below. This model has been in place since the 2018-2019 season. While the program has undergone small modifications, there has been no evaluation to determine if modified ice remains the best option for the U9 age category.

Coaches are essential to hockey at every level. A caring, enthusiastic, well-trained coach can be a positive influence on the experience of players, parents and other coaches. ALLIANCE Hockey works with Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and our Members to provide effective education, certification and registration for hundreds of hockey coaches annually.

The ALLIANCE Hockey Officiating Program Recertification Package which includes registration and clinic information for the 2024-2025 season is available now! The 2024-2025 Recertification Information has been distributed via email to all previously registered officials.
