Wolves Edge Out Jr. Rangers in 2013 Toyota Hockey Challenge
On November 24, 2013 in front of 1500 boisterous and supportive fans, the Waterloo Wolves Minor Bantam AAA team took on the Kitchener Jr. Rangers Minor Bantam AAA team in one of the most entertaining and memorable Toyota Hockey Challenge games in recent history.

Both teams were aggressive on the puck and tried to take advantage of power play opportunities offering up numerous shots on both goaltenders.  The goal tending was solid from both squads keeping the score board empty for most of the game.  The lone goal of the contest came at the 9 minute mark of the second period on the Waterloo power play.  Kitchener provided heavy pressure in the final few minutes which included hitting a few posts but time was not on their side and the final score was 1-0.

As a result of the win, the Waterloo Wolves Minor Bantam AAA team earned an all-expenses paid, one-in-a-lifetime trip to Hokkaido, Japan in March of 2014 courtesy of the Toyota Motor Manufacturing Company!

There was plenty of action off the ice as well!  During the first intermission a 15 second shoot-out challenge featured 7 year old Lily from Kitchener and 9 year old Tyler from Waterloo.  Tyler picked up a $250.00 gift card courtesy of ProHockey Life for his shoot out win and Lily didn't go home empty handed as she also picked up an IPOD Nano for her efforts.

Some of the other draw prizes given away included:
-tickets to the Toronto Maple Leaf Game vs Pheonix, courtesy of Financial Horizons
-a hotel certificate for 4 to Great Wolf Lodge, courtesy of JTB International
-4 tickets to the Harlem Globetrotters, courtesy of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium
-gift certificate to the Zone, courtesy of WMHA
-gift certificate for McPhail's Sports, courtesy of KMHA
-4 IPOD Nanos & T-Shirts, courtesy of Toyota

During the second intermission a draw was held for 3 free base registrations for the 2014-2015 hockey season courtesy of CMHA, KMHA and WMHA.

On behalf of ALLIANCE Hockey, we send our sincere thanks to Toyota MMC for providing this special opportunity to our teams.  We also thank all of the sponsors, Associations, volunteers, players and families for making the 2013 Toyota Hockey Challenge an event to remember!
