Jr. Knights Take Gold at 2014 Ontario Winter Games!
Congratulations to the London Jr. Knights Peewee AAA squad for winning Gold at the 2014 Ontario Winter Games that were hosted in Huntsville, Ontario February 27 - March 2, 2014!
The Ontario Winter Games are the largest multi-sport event in the province, with over 3,500 athletes, coaches, managers and major officials participating in over 25+ different sporting events. The Games provide athletes with development and competitive opportunities that will prepare them for national and international competition.
Men's Hockey featured two pools of four teams selected from the OHF Member Partners (2 OMHA: Guelph Gryphons, Whitby Wildcats, 2 NOHA: North Bay Trappers, Soo Greyhounds, 1 GTHL: Mississauga Rebels, 1 ALLIANCE: London Jr. Knights) and HNO (Thunder Bay Kings) and HEO (Ottawa 67's).
The London Junior Knights Peewee AAA team earned their spot in the Ontario Winter Games by finishing at the top of the leader board upon completion of the first half of the ALLIANCE Hockey regular season.
Road to Gold:
Game 1: London Jr. Knights 3, Whitby 1
Game 2: London Jr. Knights 6, Mississauga 1
Game 3: London Jr. Knights 6, North Bay 6
London Jr. Knights finish first in Group A
Semi Final: London Jr. Knights 5, Ottawa 2
Gold Medal: London Jr. Knights 3, Mississauga 2, 2OT
Bronze Medal: Guelph 3, Ottawa 2
