Congratulations to London, Ontario Official Matt Clark
on his recent selection to the 2014 Paralympic Games Sledge Ice Hockey Officiating
Staff! The Paralympic Games are set to
run March 7-16, 2014 in Sochi, Russia.
The 33-year old Clark has a decorated resume leading up the Sochi Games with his most recent assignments being the 2012 World Championships in Norway and the 2013 World Championships in Korea. Clark has been officiating for over 17 years and credits the 2011 Sledge Ice Hockey World Challenge in London, Ontario as his breakthrough to his now numerous international assignments. Congratulations on this special achievement Matt and good luck in Sochi!

About the 2014 Paralympic Games
The 2014 Paralympic Games will feature five different sports; Biathlon, Cross Country Skiing, Ice Sledge Hockey, Alpine Skiing and Wheelchair Curling.
In men’s Sledge Ice Hockey the USA will be looking to defend the gold medal they won in Vancouver 2010, while Canada will be looking to challenge after taking the bronze in 2010.

Sledge hockey is the Paralympic version of Ice hockey and, since its debut on the Paralympic program at the 1994 Lillehammer Paralympic Winter Games, it is quickly becoming one of the biggest attractions for spectators at the Paralympic Winter Games.
