London Jr. Knights & GLHA - 2014-15 Structure Model
The London Jr. Knights and Greater London Hockey Association have consented to a structure model for the 2014-15 season that promotes Development for all hockey participants in the City of London.  The Model will see the Jr. Knights enter their usual compliment of teams at the AAA and AA levels of competition while the Greater London Hockey Association has reduced their number of teams from three and in some cases four to two in an effort to be more competitive and provide a better experience for the participants.

The reduction in the number of teams by the Greater London Hockey Association will result in more teams and  more competition in the West Minor Development League.

As part of their commitment to the Model, the Greater London Hockey Association encourages participants to try-out for the London Jr. Knight AAA and AA teams.  This also falls in line with the LJK pursuit of continued excellence in competing for AAA and AA Ontario Hockey Federation and Provincial Championships.  A try-out progression is in place whereby at the completion of the Jr. Knight try-outs those participants who do not make the Jr. Knight teams will then try-out for one of the two Greater London Hockey Association teams, keeping in line with their effort to compete for Ontario Hockey Federation A Championships.

The Greater London Hockey Association Seeded A teams and the London Jr. Knight Seeded AA teams compete in the ALLIANCE Hockey AA/A Seeded League whereby teams participate in a one game round robin with teams from other ALLIANCE Hockey Member Associations.  The number of team entries varies from 12 to 17.  Teams are then "seeded" according to their records in either the AA(Constellation) or A(Bristol) category of competition.  It is incumbent on the Greater London Hockey Association and the London Jr. Knights and their Coaches to respect their roles in the Development Model and promote players to the highest level of competition.  The model is in place for the 2014-15 season.  Measurements of success are also in place to evaluate the model at try-outs and at the conclusion of the season.
