Body Checking at Minor Development Level
At the January 30th, 2016 Representative Council Semi-Annual Meeting a vote will be taken by the Membership to determine whether to continue Body Checking at the Minor Development (MD) level in Minor Bantam, Bantam, Minor Midget and Midget levels of hockey.

A survey was conducted in February, 2015 with Minor Development Participants, Coaches, Parents, Administrators and Players taking part.  ALLIANCE Hockey participating MD Associations have been tasked to discuss the survey and be prepared to make a decision in January where a vote will take place on three options:
  1. Continue to Body Check at the Minor Bantam to Midget levels of MD hockey for the 2016-17 season;
  2. Eliminate Body Checking at the Minor Bantam to Midget levels of MD hockey for the 2016-17 season;
  3. Grandfather the elimination of Body Checking in MD hockey for the 2003 birth years for the 2016-17 season that would continue the following season at the Major Bantam level of competition.
