2015 Minor Midget AAA All-Star Weekend Wraps Up
Waterloo, ON - The 2015 Minor Midget AAA All-Star Weekend came to an end on Sunday, December 6, 2016.  Following the round robin games, Team Grey finished in first position with a perfect 3-0 record and Team Navy finished in second place with a 2-1 record to solidify the final match up of the day.  Team Blue and Team White faced off in the other final Minor Midget match up of the weekend. Both games were very entertaining and showcased the great talent in our Minor Midget AAA League!

In their last game of the weekend, Team Blue defeated Team White by a score of 4-2, which proved to be a satisfying victory after a loss to the same team earlier in the day.  Both teams went back and forth trading goals with Team Blue's final goal coming on an empty net.

Team White Player of the Game: Brett Fisher (London Jr. Knights)
Team Blue Player of the Game: Kevin Quinn (Cambridge hawks)

The final game of the day between Team Grey and Team Navy was fast-paced and the action was end-to-end. Both teams had some incredible chances to score but the goaltending was stellar and the game ended up tied 3-3 after regulation time.  A five minute sudden death overtime period was played and again, there were some amazing chances and equally good saves.  Fortunately for the fans, the game was still tied after overtime so a 3-player shoot out ensued.  Team Navy's Joel Mazzilli (London Jr. Knights) shot first but was denied.  Team Grey Shooter Derek Seguin (Hamilton Huskies) was up next with a bullet of a shot that went in with authority as it knocked the water bottle right off the net! Now with Team Grey up by a goal, it was Team Navy with the next chance from Andrew Hanaka (Hamilton Huskies), which was successful!  Team Grey's second shot from Christopher Playfair (Waterloo Wolves) was also good and put the pressure on Team Navy's third and final shooter.  Team Navy's Evan Ferguson (Windsor Jr. Spitfires) had a great shot but again was denied a goal which gave Team Grey the win.  Both teams played a fantastic final game which capped off an awesome All-Star weekend!
