Results of MD Body Checking Vote
Stratford, ON – Following a vote on Saturday, January 30, 2016 the result of the Motion to remove body checking from MD Hockey (Minor Bantam and above currently includes body checking) was defeated.  A further Motion was put forth to remove body checking from MD Hockey on a graduated basis i.e. remove it from Minor Bantam MD in 2016-17, remove it from Major Bantam MD in 2017-18, etc. which was also defeated.  Prior to the vote going to the Rep Council table, a survey was presented to the membership for feedback on the subject in the Spring of 2015 along with Associations being tasked to review the issue with their Memberships.
