Stratford, ON - ALLIANCE Hockey is partnering with the OHF and Hockey Canada
to re-launch the successful Initiation Program across ALLIANCE Hockey Member Associations. Designed by Hockey Canada, the revised Initiation Program was recently
presented at the 2016 ALLIANCE Hockey Annual General Meeting (AGM) and received
with great enthusiasm.
“We are committed to making sure every player who steps on the ice has a rewarding and positive experience,” said ALLIANCE Hockey Chair of Recreation, Larry Moreland. “The Initiation Program is designed to ensure that players have fun, and want to continue to come back to play.”
“We are excited to re-launch this program along with Hockey Canada,” said ALLIANCE Hockey Executive Director, Tony Martindale. “This is the greatest development program in the world, and we are committed to providing age-appropriate, on-ice development and ultimately, enjoyment of the game for entry-level participants.”
“We are working closely with Hockey Canada to develop resources that will be readily available to all Associations,” added Martindale. “These resources will be designed to ensure Associations, coaches and parents are equipped to confidently take advantage of the Program. The overall value of the Initiation Program is the effect it will have on the development of players, especially at this age level.”
Additional information will be released about what this focus means for Associations, coaches and hockey playing families throughout the upcoming season. ALLIANCE Hockey will be offering resources to assist Associations with local programming and supplementary resources will be developed in response to feedback about the Program.
