Submitted By ALLIANCE Hockey on Friday, March 10, 2017
Stratford, ON - The London Jr. Knights captured the 2016-17 ALLIANCE Hockey Minor Midget AAA Championship title, defeating the defending champion Waterloo Wolves with a 2-1 overtime win in game four of the best of five final series.  The victory marks the seventh straight title for the 2001 Jr. Knights (Minor Atom AAA through Minor Midget AAA).  Congratulations Jr. Knights on your season and this amazing feat!

The Jr. Knights squad has been sitting atop the 2017 OHL Cup Rankings for the last 9 out of 12 weeks that the rankings have been released.  They will begin their OHL Cup competition on March 14th against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens.

The Waterloo Wolves also had a tremendous season followed by an exciting run throughout the 2017 Playdowns, playing 8 games in their Semi-Final match up against the Kitchener Jr. Rangers and taking the only point relinquished by the Knights in the Playdowns during the Championship Final series. The Wolves will face the NOHA in their first game of the 2017 OHL Cup match up scheduled for March 15th.

Congratulations to both teams on their outstanding seasons and best of luck in the 2017 OHL Cup
