Windsor Jr. Spitfires Midget AAA Bring Home Silver
Sudbury, ON - Congratulations to the Windsor Jr. Spitfires on winning the silver medal at the 2017 Central Region Midget AAA Championships in Sudbury, ON on Sunday! The 2017 ALLIANCE Hockey Midget AAA Champions played 7 games in 7 days to reach the final of the six-team Championship.
The Central Region Midget AAA Championship, part of the Road to the TELUS Cup, was hosted from March 27-April 2, 2017. Champions from the OHF’s four minor Member Partners ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA, and OMHA, HEO, and the host team, make up the field for the event. (The HNO participates in the West Region at the midget AAA level.)
While it is a privilege to earn a spot at the Championships, to then go on to win a silver medal, is something very special. "A tough loss but the Windsor Jr. Spitfires should be proud to be Central Region Midget AAA Silver medalists," said ALLIANCE Hockey Region 2 Vice-President and Midget AAA Chair, Ray Kosumovic.
Congratulations again to the Jr. Spitfires and their Staff on a successful season! Thank you for representing the Windsor AAA Zone and ALLIANCE Hockey so well!
