2017 ALLIANCE Hockey Annual General Meeting Concludes in Grand Bend

Stratford, ON - The 2017 ALLIANCE Hockey Annual General Meeting was held June 2-3, 2017 in Grand Bend, ON.  More than 200 members attended the two-day event which included a Golf Tournament, Awards Banquet, Volunteer Social and Annual General Meeting.

The weekend began with the Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, June 2nd at the Oakwood Resort Golf Club. The golfers and companions enjoyed the beautiful weather and a variety of special contests coordinated in part by the AGM Co-Hosts, the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association.  The Companion's Program included a visit to the local Dark Horse Estate Winery.  See all the photos here!

Friday evening featured a dinner followed by the Annual ALLIANCE Hockey Awards Banquet.  Awards were handed, with a full recap on our website.  An evening of comedy with Hypnotist Jeff West was followed by dancing, which capped off a great day.

On Saturday, June 3rd, the Annual General Meeting was conducted consisting of Executive Reports, Committee Reports, Notices of Motions and the introduction of the 2017-2018 Executive Committee.

The Executive Director's Report focused upon the Association's continuing efforts to market the game, recruitment of new participants, the revitalized Initiation Program and the retention of current participants.  

Five ALLIANCE Hockey Executive positions were open for election including; Sr. Vice-President, Vice-President Region #1, Vice-President Region #3, Vice-President Region #5 and Chair, Recreational Council.  All positions were filled by acclamation except for Vice-President Region #1 which is currently vacant. 
The positions of Treasurer, Chairperson of Appeals and Technical Director - Officials, were appointed.  Of note, the position of Technical Director - Officials was voted on by the Membership to now be occupied on a two-year term cycle.

Representative Council Chair: Thom Foster (Brantford)
