Coach DeSilva Heading West
Stratford, ON - Congratulations to Team ALLIANCE Alumni and former KMHA Coach Dean DeSilva on his appointment to the WHL's
Vancouver Giants as Assistant Coach for the 2019-2020 season!
DeSilva worked with three Team ALLIANCE groups and his most recent run in 2019 was as Head Coach, where the Team picked up the bronze at the 2019 OHL Gold Cup. In 2016, DeSilva was recognized with the ALLIANCE Hockey Award of Merit.
DeSilva spent the last six years as Head Coach with the Kitchener Jr Rangers Minor Midget AAA program and was KMHA's Director of Development over the past three years. He has also enjoyed positions with the Elmira Sugar Kings, the Waterloo Siskins, and the Kitchener Lady Rangers over his numerous years of coaching.
As a High Performance 1 certified Coach, DeSilva was named Assistant Coach for Team Ontario Men’s Hockey at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta. DeSilva participated at the Hockey Canada U17 National Development Program as a Development Coach and acted as the Assistant Coach of Team Canada at the 2016 Youth Olympic Games in Norway and 3 Nations Cup in Finland.
Coach DeSilva has effortlessly guided so many players, parents, coaches, and administrators throughout his tenure with ALLIANCE Hockey and will be missed.
