GLHA presents "Doing It Right" by Dr. Alan Edmunds
Helping Your Child Handle High-Pressure Sport
Western University Professor and Sports Psychologist, Alan Edmunds, Ph.D. will visit the Imperio Banquet Hall for a two-hour presentation entitled "Doing It Right: How to Help Your Child Handle High-Pressure Sport".
This seminar is for parents of athletes involved in competitive sport. What kinds of pressure do these athletes face? How do they react to winning, or not making the team? How do they respond when injured? Can they emotionally get to the next level? Most importantly, how do Mom and Dad help them navigate these issues? This seminar was developed to provide parents with the best approach to helping their child handle high pressure sport.
Tickets are $25.00 per person or groups of 10 or more $20.00 and may be purchased by clicking here.
For this event, parents with kids at any age are encouraged to attend, but please note parents with kids 9-10 years and older would be the target audience. For those who are purchasing tickets you can bring one athlete per ticket purchased to the event free of charge but it is recommended athletes who attend be around the 12+ age.
As can be found at his website www.mentaltoughnesscoaching.com, Dr. Edmund's focus is on the development and delivery of effective Mental Toughness Coaching. He has long believed that the ability to be mentally tough - confident, calm and focused under pressure - is the key to success in any sport, so he has built his sports psychology practice around this concept. In the past 15 years, he has helped athletes across a wide range of sports develop focusing abilities as well as an unshakable belief in themselves. These improved mental abilities have taken many clients to the highest levels of competition.
