The Ontario Hockey
Federation is committed to collaborating with our Members in order to shape the
best game experience possible for our athletes. OHF, with support of its minor
hockey Members (ALLIANCE Hockey, Greater Toronto Hockey League, Northern
Ontario Hockey Association and Ontario Minor Hockey Association) is requesting
feedback from our stakeholders – parents/guardians, players, teams, officials,
on-ice officials and Association representatives – to help determine if there
is a need for a competitive stream of non-body checking in hockey within the
OHF.
For the purpose of this Body Checking Survey, competitive stream shall be loosely defined as a representative Category of hockey.
Please note, that by conducting this survey it should not be misinterpreted as an assertion on behalf of the OHF to remove body checking in any Category where it is currently permitted. Instead, the OHF is hoping to determine and understand public opinion surrounding the notion of a competitive stream of non-body checking hockey.
Responses to the survey are requested to be submitted no later than June 15, 2021.
NOTE FROM ALLIANCE HOCKEY:
**ALLIANCE Hockey currently provides a non-body checking stream of competitive hockey at the MD Level and at the Seeded (AA/A) U18 Level.**
