ONTARIO (January 4, 2023) - The Ontario Hockey Federation, Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Northwestern Ontario are pleased to announce the Team Ontario roster for the men’s hockey team that will represent the province at the 2023 Canada Winter Games in PEI.
Held every four years, the Canada Winter Games showcases the
top under-16 hockey talent in the country that sees one province or territory
emerge as the best in the Nation. Team Ontario will be entering the competition
as the defending men’s hockey silver medalists four years ago in Red Deer,
AB.
Leading the 2023 men’s hockey roster team will be head coach
Steve Devine as well as associate coaches Cyril Bollers and David Cicchini.
“We are extremely
excited about the group that we have. It
was a challenging process as there are some incredible hockey players right
across this province and to get it down to 20 players was tough. We said from the outset that we wanted to
build the best team who we felt would play the style of hockey we want &
that is what this group of players represents.”
The team selection was led by Director of Operations Jeff
Robert.
“Our staff worked extremely hard over the last 13 months to
build a team that we feel will be tough to play against in PEI. From the start
of the process our coaching staff wanted to build a team with high skill, that
can play at a fast pace and most importantly out compete our opponents. This
was not an easy team to build, as there are some very talented players in
Ontario. We are looking forward to seeing what our team can do against the top
players in the country”
The complete Team Ontario Roster can be found here.
Congratulations to all successful players and thank you to all of those who
have been involved in the selection process over the past 13 months.

All players have been diligently evaluated since the start of the hockey season by team scouts and staff who took in several league games and major tournaments across the province. In addition, the players and parents have been educated at Member led POE programs and webinars.
Players will gather for a Pre-Tournament Camp February 13th – 17th in Kitchener.
“The goal for our minicamp in Kitchener prior to flying out to PEI is to continue to build on our foundation which we laid at our Evaluation Camp in December and through our virtual team sessions in January. We want to continue to build on the chemistry that exists in this group of players and hit the ground running once we arrive in Charlottetown.”
“As a group we know what we want to be about and we are committed to doing the little things great; with that focus we will be able to leave everything on the table each day in PEI.”
