The Brantford Sports Council held its 17th annual awards and recognition celebration on Saturday, March 11th.
Among the award winners were numerous minor hockey volunteers and contributors.

Frank Tomlin Memorial Award - Brantford’s Sportsperson of the Year:
Garrett Riley
-played minor hockey with both the BCHL and BMHA
-won Silver medal for Team Canada at the 2022 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China
"It was an honour to be recognized for Lifetime Sports Volunteerism - Hockey by the Brantford Sports Council along with so many other deserving volunteers, coaches, officials and athletes this past Saturday. It was made super special to be there when Garrett Riley was recognized as Sportsman of the year. Garrett played his Minor Hockey in Brantford with both Brantford Community Hockey League and Brantford Minor Hockey 99ers then later on played sledge hockey where he went on to play for Team Canada at the 2022 Beijing Olympics winning a Silver medal.
