A group of ALLIANCE Hockey players had the opportunity to show off their skills over the weekend as part of the 2024 NHL All-Star Youth Hockey Jamboree held in conjunction with the 2024 NHL All-Star Weekend festivities.
The event was held on February 3rd featuring participants from current NHL/NHLPA First Shift and Learn to Play programs that provide affordable hockey to families, including head-to-toe equipment.
The contingent of players arrived from all across North America including Colorado, Nashville, Tampa Bay, New Jersey, Long Island, Detroit, Montreal and of course, Ontario with ALLIANCE Hockey represented by both St. Catharines CYO Minor Hockey
and Chedoke Minor Hockey Association participants.
The event featured former NHL players such as Bryan Smolinski and PWHL players Savannah Harmon and Alina Muller and in addition, the
2024 All-Star Game on-ice officials addressed the players. All participants received a commemorative jersey for participating.
The players weren't the only ones to experience the thrill of the Jamboree. "It was an honour for me and the CYO Program Instructor to also be asked to instruct on the ice for the event," noted Chedoke Minor Hockey President Dwayne Sterling. "It was awesome, loud and the kids had a blast knowing they were part of the NHL All-Star Weekend!"
Congratulations to all who participated!
